heide smith's photographs of tuross head
We moved to Tuross Head on the NSW South Coast in 2018, after twenty idyllic years of living in the middle of a forest, surrounded by the waters of Wagonga Inlet. Five km from the ocean and Narooma; splendid isolation. Back to surburbia we thought, but, overlooking the ocean 100 meters away grows on you, as do the 200 splendid Norfolk Pines planted by Hector McWilliam a hundred years ago. The beaches are strewn with huge volcanic boulders, which not only protect our coastline from erosion, but provide fascinating content for my daily photographic safaries. Add the Deua Mountains and Mt Dromaderry to the west, and the almost daily incredible cloud formations, and I am spoilt for choice. I have a small gallery at home, where my work is displayed, and where we host small exhibitions. Images of Tuross was the most recent, and was very successful.
